Rocco Forte Hotels in Germany
Villa Kennedy is being constructed around an existing villa that was built in 1904 as the home of a Frankfurt family of private bankers. The villa will be fully restored to become the centrepiece of the €70 million property, which - with the addition of substantial new construction - will provide 166 spacious bedrooms and suites, a restaurant and bar, a lounge within the building cloisters that will open on to the central courtyard, a hydrotherapy spa and fitness centre, conference and banqueting facilities with up to the minute technology for up to 250 delegates, seven meeting rooms for up to 40 delegates and an underground car park. The location provides a unique retreat from the bustle of the city, within easy reach of the main business and leisure areas.
The Hotel de Rome in Berlin will involve the conversion of a building, originally constructed in 1889, that housed Dresdner Bank until 1945, when it became the head office of the Central Bank of the German Democratic Republic. Much of the historic and architectural substance of the building remains intact and will be integrated into the new hotel. For example, the imposing bank vaults will be converted to house a spa pool and the magnificent offices of the former board members of Dresdner Bank will be converted into suites.
This €71 million project will include 146 large bedrooms (32 junior suites, 10 one-bedroom suites and one presidential suite of 120 square metres), a restaurant, bar and lounge, five conference rooms (including a banqueting hall that can accommodate up to 350 people), a fitness centre with five treatment rooms, a pool and a business centre, as well as secure underground parking for 30 cars. Hotel de Rome is located in the very heart of old Berlin on the square known as Bebel platz, which is also home to Humbold University, the Opera and former Royal Library, now the Law School of the University.
The Rocco Forte Collection' Munich property will be constructed in Lenbach Gärten, very close to the city's commercial and shopping districts, yet on the edge of the Botanical Gardens, thus providing peace and tranquillity away from the bustle of the city centre. The €71.5 million, eight-storey new-build hotel will have 160 rooms (nine junior suites, 18 master suites and one presidential suite), as well as a restaurant with two private dining rooms, a bar, a health centre with gym, swimming pool, sauna and five treatment rooms, a business centre, eight meeting rooms, including a ballroom that will accommodate almost 400 people for a cocktail reception, and secure parking for 49 cars.
